Game To Debut New Air Jordan XX2
With the NBA removing color-scheme restrictions for the All-Star Game, a number of players are using the game to unveil new shoes, according to Oscar Dixon of USA TODAY. Heat G Dwyane Wade will wear a limited-edition Converse Wade 2.0, available in stores today for $100. Pistons G Richard Hamilton will unveil the $175 Air Jordan XX2 that go on sale Saturday. Rockets F Tracy McGrady will don a $140 red, white and blue version of his adidas T-Mac 6 “highlighted by a series of NBA All-Star logos.” McGrady: “I think the game being in Vegas this year is definitely going to have an effect on some of the ‘fashion’ we’ll see on the court.” Sporting Goods Intelligence Publisher John Horan said of companies unveiling shoes at the All-Star Game, “It’s a great opportunity. You know the announcers are going to be talking about the shoes. If you put a gold pair of shoes on somebody, it’s going to make it on TV” (USA TODAY, 2/15).
