The Yankees’ Joe Torre Is Highest-Paid Manager In MLB

Yankees manager Joe Torre will earn $7.5M for the ’07 season, more than double any other manager in MLB. The following chart presents MLB managers salaries for the ’07 season (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 1/21).
NOTE: ^ First year with team. The Mets are expected to announce an extension with manager Willie Randolph that is reportedly worth $5.65M over three years, paying him $2M in ’08 and $2.25M in ’09. A source said that the Mets hold a $2.5M club option for 2010. The deal “will go into effect immediately.” Randolph’s original ’07 salary was $700,000 (Newark STAR-LEDGER, 1/25).
