CHICAGO 2016: The Chicago 2016 Olympic bid committee announced the formation of World Sport Chicago, with USATF Exec Dir of Elite Athlete Programs MIKE CONLEY, a former Olympic triple jump Gold Medalist, serving as Exec Dir. Chicago 2016 Chair PATRICK RYAN said that the group “will fund World Sport Chicago until it becomes an independent organization that will be a legacy of the Olympic bid, even if Chicago fails to win” the Games (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 1/10).
