ESPN named ROBERT WALLACE VP of EOE, where he will be responsible for the creative and strategic vision of EOE programming and production in the areas of documentary and unscripted/reality while also collaborating on EOE’s scripted projects. Wallace established his own media consulting company, Tumbling Dice Media, in ’05. From ’93-97, Wallace was a Senior Producer & Senior Story Editor for DIANE SAWYER at ABC’s “Prime Time Live” (ESPN)....GolTV named HBO/Cinemax Latin America Dir of Marketing DIDI MONTIEL Dir of Marketing. Montiel “steps in for” Exec VP/Sales & Marketing EILEEN MONTALVO, who left in June (MULTICHANNEL NEWS, 1/8 issue)....Versus Dir of PR AMY PHILLIPS is leaving the network to become ESPN Dir of Media Relations, where she will focus on new media (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 1/8 issue).

Gillespie spent 30 years at Aramark before leaving the company in January ’04. NORTH OF THE BORDER: HELENA GUERGIS was named Secretary of State for Sport by Canadian Prime Minister STEPHEN HARPER. Guergis replaces PETER VAN LOAN, who had held the position since November. Guergis “may not be long for the position either (as) a national election could be called in 2007 should Harper’s government lose a confidence vote, perhaps resulting in a totally new government.” DAVID EMERSON will remain the minister for the 2010 Games and Int’l Trade (AROUND THE RINGS, 1/5 issue).
