CABLE: Cable for the fifth-straight year “is pacing to beat the six broadcast networks in household share in primetime.” To date, cable has a 55.4 share versus a 40.4 for broadcast. USA Network, “boosted by wrestling,” this year “will win the crown as cable’s No. 1-rated network in primetime ratings, total viewers and several key demographics.” The network is also “enjoying a banner year” in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 (MULTICHANNEL.com, 12/13).

HOCKEY: The heavily-promoted Penguins-Capitals game on Versus Monday night, featuring Sidney Crosby vs. Alex Ovechkin, earned a 0.2 rating, 33.3% lower than Devils-Sabres Tuesday night on Versus (THE DAILY)....Islanders games are averaging a 0.08 rating on FSNY, down from a 0.14 at this point last year. Through Monday, the Rangers were averaging a 0.49 on MSG and the Devils a 0.15, which “are near last year’s numbers” on FSNY and MSG (NEWSDAY, 12/15).
