Buffett Drives Up Nike
Share Price With Acquisition
WARREN BUFFETT’s BERKSHIRE HATHAWAY recently purchased 1.5 million shares of NIKE stock, which sent share prices “soaring.” Cavaliers F LEBRON JAMES, a Nike endorser, met with Buffett this summer “seeking business advice,” and was featured in a CNBC special last week chronicling Buffett’s life (AKRON BEACON JOURNAL, 11/23).... Dodgers Owner FRANK MCCOURT sold the “last valuable pieces of his South Boston Waterfront land, two restaurant buildings on the water’s edge, for a little more than” $4M (BOSTON GLOBE, 11/25)....ELIN NORDEGREN, the wife of TIGER WOODS, filed a libel lawsuit in Ireland against THE DUBLINER newspaper for publishing “fake nude photos of her and [claiming] she appeared on porn Internet sites” (MIAMI HERALD, 11/25)....A racing suit worn by the late DALE EARNHARDT valued at up to $100,000, as well as a helmet, racing gloves and shoes, were stolen last week from Texas Motor Speedway (AP, 11/22).

REAL ESTATE: ANDRE AGASSI and STEFFI GRAF have agreed to sell their 13,000-square-foot estate in Tiburon, California, for $20M. A real estate agent involved in the sale said that the sale price was “$3[M] less than they paid for it five years ago” (MARIN INDEPENDENT JOURNAL, 11/25) ....The N.Y. POST’s Page Six cited a Palm Beach-area resident saying that Buccaneers Exec VP JOEL GLAZER and his wife, ANGELA, “made a mess of a $10[M] home they’d agreed to rent for $60,000 a month — and then left without paying.” Angela “washed the wallpapered walls and had the carpets ripped out because animal fur and mold were making her sick.” But a team spokesperson said that the Glazers “were not told animals lived there before they moved in and that they did nothing to the house that all parties hadn’t agreed to” (N.Y. POST, 11/25).
