Aquilinis’ 100% Stake In Canucks, Arena Valued At C$300M

Canucks, GM Place’s Value
Estimated At C$300M
It is believed the Aquilinis “will have a [C$300M] investment in the Canucks and GM Place when the sale becomes final,” according to Grant Kerr of the Toronto GLOBE & MAIL. Orca Bay Sports & Entertainment President & CEO Chris Zimmerman will handle “day-to-day operation” of the team. He and Canucks GM Dave Nonis “will be accountable to the Aquilinis, who appointed themselves managing directors.” When asked about the lawsuit filed by Vancouver-based business execs Tom Gaglardi and Ryan Beedie, who claim they had a deal with Francesco Aquilini to buy the team from Orca Bay, Francesco said, “I’ve made my statement that I feel I didn’t do anything wrong.” A hearing is expected to take place by April (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 11/10).
