D’Backs Unveil Overhauled Uniforms With New Color Scheme

D’Backs Unveil New
Uniforms, Color Scheme
The new D’Backs uniforms feature Sedona Red, Sonoran Sand and black colors, which replace the turquoise, copper, black and purple look “the team’s been sporting since its inaugural season” in ’98, according to Megan Finnerty of the ARIZONA REPUBLIC. The snake logo is “curvier, more realistic and less angular,” and the pinstripes and vest jerseys are gone. The team will be donating old teal-and-purple clothing, uniforms and other merchandise to U.S. military families and children in the Dominican Republic (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 11/9). MLB.com’s Steve Gilbert notes the D’Backs will have a total of four jerseys. The home white top “has a new script lettering with ‘D-backs’ in Sedona red with black and Sonoran sand trim.” The main road jersey is grey with “Arizona” across the chest in an “updated typeface.” There are two alternate jerseys, including a Sedona red top (MLB.com, 11/9). D’Backs General Partner Jeff Moorad said of the change, “I felt that if we didn’t do it very soon, we might never do it” (MLB.com, 11/9).
