    In October ‘94, there was no World Series; it was cancelled due to MLB’s labor strife. Twelve years later, MLB and the MLBPA use the Fall Classic to announce a new CBA that ensures labor peace through 2011. The significance of this event – compared to where the industry was in ‘94 and even ‘02, when a work stoppage was averted with a last-minute deal – should not be overlooked. Much of the credit here goes to Bud Selig and Don Fehr, whose relationship has improved and evolved much like the business success of the game they oversee.
