The PGA Tour announced that $2.7M will be distributed to charities from this year’s
THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP, the “largest one-year donation from proceeds”
raised by the event. Charitable dollars next year “could exceed $3[M],” as the
tournament moves to May “with more tickets available and with a new clubhouse
and more on-course areas for corporate hospitality” (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 10/24).
