In S.F., Henry Schulman notes Conte “had disagreements with management, largely revolving around BARRY BONDS.” Conte in ’00 “wanted [Greg] Anderson and the rest of Bonds’ group banned from the clubhouse, but team executives would not do it.” However, Conte said that “none of that played into his decision to leave” (S.F.
