Hoover H.S. In Talks For Second Season Of MTV’s “Two-A-Days”

MTV Reality Show In
Talks For Second Season
Hoover High School (AL) AD Jerry Browning said that officials and producers are “in talks about the exact amount of compensation” for a second season of MTV’s “Two-A-Days,” a reality show about the Hoover football team. Remote Productions Inc. paid $20,000 for rights to film the show’s first season, which ended Wednesday, and a contract for a second season “will mean a maximum of $21,000 for the school system.” The show averaged “nearly 1.9 million viewers an episode in its first five weeks” (USA TODAY, 10/12). The Hoover football team was featured on CBS’ “The Early Show” yesterday. Correspondent Cynthia Bowers interviewed coach Rush Propst, QB Ross Wilson, his mother Susan, and Hoover Mayor Tony Petelos. Bowers: “It may only be high school, but the kids have already become pros at ignoring the cameras.” Bowers reported that the exposure has led to the selling out of team apparel at the boosters club, nationwide attention for Ross Wilson and an unprecedented spotlight on the city (“The Early Show,” CBS, 10/11).
