Todd To Become
IMG Int’l President
Top sports marketer IAN TODD, who started his career at IMG only to leave to become the top marketing executive at Nike, is returning to IMG as President of IMG Int’l, IMG Chair & CEO TED FORSTMANN announced in a companywide memo today. Todd, who is “completing his obligations and responsibilities to Nike over the next three months,” will re-join IMG on January 1, 2007, Forstmann wrote in the memo. “Ian is a truly unique world-class talent and I am thrilled that he has decided to return to IMG.” In his new position, Todd will be responsible for leading and growing IMG’s global business development activities in Sports & Entertainment and IMG Media’s international production, rights and distribution businesses. Todd’s re-joining the company comes after a year in which many of the old-time IMG executives who helped build the firm have left. Todd started at IMG in ’71 and, like many of IMG’s recently departed IMG executives, began his career representing high-profile athletes, including skier JEAN-CLAUDE KILLY. Todd was formerly Corporate VP/Global Sports Marketing at Nike from the late ’90s until ’04, when ADAM HELFANT took on that position.
