NHL CMO MICHAEL LABROAD, who in February became the “first person to hold that title with the league, will not return for the 2006-07 campaign.” A league official said that LaBroad “recently decided against relocating his family” to N.Y. from the Midwest. NHL Enterprises President ED HORNE, to whom LaBroad reported, “will now be the point person for the CMO duties,” and the league “has not made a final decision as to whether it will fill” the position (BRANDWEEK.com, 8/24).
