Miller Park Tax Revenues
Falling Below Projections
Miller Park sales tax revenue has fallen $1.67M below projections “so far this year,” according to Don Walker of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL. Through July, the Miller Park stadium district received $14.3M in sales tax revenue, “a 0.11% decrease compared with the same time period last year.” Since ’03, the district’s sales tax collections “also are down an average of 0.11%.” From ’97-’02, the average increase was 7.89%. A 0.1% sales tax is collected in Waukesha, Milwaukee, Racine, Washington and Ozaukee counties, which is used to retire the debt on Miller Park (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 8/19).
