Roller Rink: SGMA Figures On Skating Sports Participation

The following presents SGMA International’s ’05 skating sports participation data. Inline skating topped the list with 16.5 million respondents indicating they had participated in the sport. In the chart below participants are listed in millions.

METHODOLOGY: During January ’06, self-administered questionnaire booklets were mailed to households across the U.S. One individual in each household was pre-selected to complete the questionnaire. Parents were instructed to fill out the booklet for young children. Respondents were aged 6+, and were considered participants if they took part in the sport at least once per year (SGMA Int’l).
