| Jennifer Mills Heads To USA Network |
NOTES: German competitors Premiere and Unity Media have “reached an agreement to share rights” to the Bundesliga. Premiere will offer Bundesliga matches to the 800,000 subscribers who receive the service for an additional US$18.89 a month (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 7/14)....WKNR-AM Program Dir Michael Luczak said that the Cleveland station will drop its broadcast of ESPN Radio’s “Mike & Mike in the Morning” show, “along with other ESPN programming.” There has been “speculation that an existing radio signal has been acquired and will feature ESPN programming,” although that station has not been identified. Luczak: “We’ve learned that ESPN will be going 24 hours, seven days a week to a new owner that we anticipate will pretty much present ESPN 24 hours a day” (AKRON BEACON JOURNAL, 7/13)....Former Golf Channel anchor Jennifer Mills has been hired as a studio host for USA Network’s PGA Tour Sunday show (GOLF WORLD, 7/14 issue)....Univ. of Alabama football and MRN announcer Eli Gold will handle the radio play-by-play duties for the Predators next season (HUNTSVILLE TIMES, 7/14).
