Oscar De La Hoya (r) Joins CAA Roster
Creative Artists Agency has signed on to represent boxer Oscar De La Hoya and his Golden Boy Promotions for business ventures outside the ring, with an initial focus on endorsement and licensing relationships (CAA).

NOTES: In N.Y., Phil Mushnick writes there “was reason to believe the Ford Mustang commercial showing Derek Jeter and Spike Lee driving like homicidal jerks through [N.Y.] had been pulled due to content,” but both YES Network and SportsNet N.Y. said that the ad’s “planned run had expired” (N.Y. POST, 7/14)....The IRL’s Cheever Racing will not race again “until sponsorship is found,” dropping the number of cars expected to start Saturday’s Firestone Indy 200 to 18 (USA TODAY, 7/14)....Rbk Hockey has signed on to title sponsor the ’07 ECHL All-Star Game and Skills Competition on January 16 and 17 (ECHL)....The World Poker Tour (WPT) was named the Best Sports Brand License of the Year for ’05 by the Int’l Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association. N.Y.-based Brandgenuity handles licensing for the WPT (WPT).
