Atlanta Club Using NFL, Players’ Names To Promote Event

Atlanta Nightclub Using
Titans Players To Promote Party
Visions Nightclub & Lounge in Atlanta is promoting Titans CB Pacman Jones as host of “The NFL New Millionaire’s Club” party Friday, with Titans rookies Vince Young and LenDale White as special guests, according to Paul Kuharsky of the Nashville TENNESSEAN. The nightclub’s Web site, www.visionatlanta.com, mentions the party and the players’ participation, but Titans GM Floyd Reese said, “This is the first time I’ve heard of it. You have to keep in mind those guys may not have anything to do with it, it could be some club just trying to sell a party.” Neither agents for the players, nor the nightclub, returned phone calls. Also, the Web site for Atlanta radio station WVEE-FM said that the party “coincides with a football camp” Jones, an Atlanta native, is part of this weekend (TENNESSEAN, 7/14). Also in Nashville, David Climer writes, “Just because a club sticks somebody’s name and picture on its Web site doesn’t mean there is any official link. The rich and famous, be they pro athletes or not, often get used and abused in false advertising.” However, the billing is an “unsettling situation” for the Titans and it was discussed Thursday on Colin Cowherd’s ESPN Radio Show (TENNESSEAN, 7/14).
