Rick White Returns To Sports Apparel Biz As Imperial CEO
Published July 10, 2006
Former MLB Properties and Nike exec RICK WHITE is returning to the sports apparel business as CEO of Denver-based Imperial Headwear. White was President & CEO of Phoenix Footwear Group from June of ‘04 until resigning in May to take the Imperial job. He has been working on the company’s BOD, prior to becoming CEO. Imperial traces its roots back 90 years to the Mid-West Cap Works and has built its business largely around golf, with licenses including the USGA, PGA Tour and PGA of America. PGA Tour pro BRETT QUIGLEY and Champions Tour pro DANA QUIGLEY are endorsers. More recently, Imperial has had new ownership, with MCG Global, a Westport, Connecticut-based financial investment firm headed by Garrett Stonehouse, taking over. White was with MLBP for 15 years, seven as President. He was GM of Nike’s subsidiary brands from '97-99. From ’99-‘02, he was CEO of Reed Exhibitions.
