T’Wolves Ink Radio Rights Deal With KCLI-FM

T’Wolves Turning Dial To FM
The T’Wolves have reached a three-year agreement to air their games on KCLI-FM after recently splitting with 17-year radio partner KFAN-AM, according to Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE. The club will “buy air time from the station,” although team officials would not comment on specifics, and will “produce the games, as well as the team-related programming.” KCLI is charging the team “less for its time, and regular pregame shows will return.” In return, the station will receive advertising in Target Center. T’Wolves President Chris Wright said, “A lot of teams today are turning from AM to FM partners, and now we’re one of those teams that has determined our games on a strong, clear FM signal is where we need to be.” Wright added the new deal was partly intended to “develop a partnership that could give us back an opportunity that we need to market our product” (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 6/23).
