Drinking Game? Georgia Prez Asks CBS To Change Game Tagline

Adams Asks CBS To Curb Use
Of Georgia-Florida Game Tagline
Univ. of Georgia President Michael Adams is working through the SEC to request that CBS “curb its use of ‘World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party’ in promoting” its annual coverage of the Georgia-Florida football game at Alltel Stadium, according to Carter Strickland of the ATLANTA CONSTITUTION. Adams: “There are better images. We have requested they not use that nomenclature. The indication is they are sensitive to our concern.” But Adams said that CBS has “made it clear it is within its rights to use the tag line if it sees fit.” Strickland notes Adams has recently “made a push to curb on-campus alcohol abuse and change an image of the school.” CBS officials did not respond to interview requests (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 5/15).
