In Seattle, Benjamin Romano reported Microsoft this summer will demonstrate its statistics-tracking Microsoft Office Business Scorecard Manager 2005 software in hosted skybox events at MLB ballparks. The software, which launched last fall, tracks business goals, intelligence and performance indicators, and the company has built a "baseball scorecard that tracks pitching and batting performance, which it demonstrates to business executives invited to the games” (SEATTLETIMES.com, 5/12).

FEELING THE DRAFT: Titans rookie QB Vince Young’s jersey is the top-seller so far among NFL draftees, with orders having been placed for more than 22,000 (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 5/14)....The N.Y. POST’s Page Six reports Saints first-round draft pick Reggie Bush was given a condo in Miami “in exchange for letting the developers use his name for advertisements.” Bush reportedly is planning to give the condo to his parents (N.Y. POST, 5/15)....Patriots first-round pick Laurence Maroney, discussing his new shoe contract with Reebok, said “I never wore Reebok a day in my life. Now I’m the biggest Reebok fan ever.” In Boston, John Tomase notes Maroney “used to be an Air Jordan guy” (BOSTON HERALD, 5/14).

ROOM SERVICE: W Hotels and Puma have teamed to offer a new line of athletic gear called TrainAway. Beginning May 31, W Hotels will offer at hotels and online Puma jackets, shirts, shorts and sneakers “with a hidden slot for a key card.” Free jogging maps, as well as the use of Puma bikes and route maps will be available at all W Hotels, while the W New York will also have iPods preloaded with running guides (N.Y. TIMES, 5/14).
