Toyota Signs On As Sponsor Of NBC’s NFL Halftime Show



Toyota has signed on as the exclusive sponsor for NBC’s Sunday night NFL halftime show for the ’06 season. The segment will be called the “Toyota Halftime Report.” GM is the NFL’s automotive sponsor (THE DAILY). The WALL STREET JOURNAL’s Gina Chon reported the segment “will feature a Tundra pickup truck.” Toyota has said that the redesigned Tundra “is one of the most important product launches in Toyota’s history.” Toyota Motor Sales Corporate Manager of Marketing Communications Kim McCullough said the NBC deal “is important to us because of the connection we’ll be able to make with a male audience.” McCullough added that “further details of the NFL sponsorship wouldn’t be revealed until June” (WSJ.com, 5/9).
