Ford Field To Host WrestleMania 23 In April ’07
Published March 16, 2006
Ford Field in Detroit will play host to WrestleMania 23 on April 1, 2007, as World Wrestling Entertainment returns to the market 20 years after the event attracted the largest crowd in WrestleMania history, said WWE Senior VP Bob Collins. A crowd of 93,173 attended WrestleMania III at the Pontiac Silverdome in ’87. Ford Field could hold up to 75,000, Collins said. Last year, WrestleMania 21 surpassed $2.1M in ticket sales from 20,193 paid attendees at Staples Center. This year’s event is April 2 at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.
