For Fresno State-USC Game
NBC: NBC’s coverage of Notre Dame football this season averaged a 3.6/9 Nielsen rating, up 44% from a 2.5/6 last season and the highest season average since a 4.8 in ’95. Meanwhile, NBC and TNT averaged a 4.7/10 for their coverage of NASCAR Nextel Cup racing, the best season average since beginning their partnership to broadcast the second half of the season in ’01. NBC and TNT averaged a 4.7 for the ten races in the Chase for the Nextel Cup, up 2% from a 4.6 in ’04 (THE DAILY).
NOTES: The CBC drew 1.1 million viewers for last Sunday’s CFL Alouettes-Argonauts East Division final, down 28% from last year’s record of 1.52 million viewers for the same match-up. The Eskimos-Lions West Division final drew 1.586 million viewers, down 4% from 1.659 million viewers for Lions-Roughriders last year (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 11/23)....Comcast SportsNet Chicago is averaging a 0.8 Nielsen rating through 11 Blackhawks games this season, up 33% from the same number of telecasts on FSN Chicago during the ’03-04 season (CSN Chicago).
