Bob Harlan Will Represent Team In Goodwill Matters |
The Packers’ BOD unanimously approved a succession plan making Exec VP & COO
JOHN
JONES President in May ’06 and CEO in May ’07, according to Richard Ryman
of the GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE. Packers President & CEO
BOB HARLAN will
become Chair & CEO in May ’06 and Chair Emeritus in May ’07, “when he will have
reached the mandatory retirement age of 70.” Harlan hired Jones from the NFL league
office in ’99 and the two men are “credited with conceiving the $295[M] renovation
of Lambeau Field, making the stadium a year-round venue and greatly increasing
the team’s income.” Jones is also a member of the NFL Stadium Committee and NFL
Business Ventures (
GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 10/13). In Milwaukee, Don Walker
writes that as Chair Emeritus, Harlan will “act as the team’s goodwill ambassador
by representing the franchise at community functions and working with the team’s
community relations department” (
JOURNAL SENTINEL, 10/13).
