ABC's "MNF" earned a 14.8/24 overnight Nielsen rating for Eagles-Falcons last night, up 13.0% from a 13.1/20 for the comparable Packers-Panthers game last year. The Philadelphia market posted a 33.5/51, while Atlanta earned a 27.3/40 (THE DAILY).

The Academy of TV Arts & Sciences awarded NBC Sports two Primetime Emmys for its coverage of the ’04 Athens Olympics Opening Ceremony (NBC Universal).

CBS Inks Extension To Broadcast PGA Championship Through 2011

RIGHTS DEALS: CBS Sports, which has broadcast every PGA Championship since ’91, has reached an extension with the PGA of America to broadcast the tournament through 2011. CBS will produce five hours of HD weekend coverage and air a maximum of eight minutes of ads per hour (PGA of America) ....FSN and Host Communications have signed an exclusive ten-year agreement for TV coverage of Univ. of Kentucky (UK) athletics. FSN will air regionally all UK men’s basketball, women’s basketball and baseball games produced by the Big Blue Sports Network and WKYT-CBS, as well as weekly coaches shows and “Behind the Blue,” a new monthly program devoted to UK’s Olympic sports programs (UK)....The Blackhawks renewed their rights deal with WSCR-AM for the ’05-06 season. WSCR will air all 82 regular-season games, plus all playoff games, with a ten-minute pregame show, a 15-minute postgame show for road games and a 30-minute postgame show for home games (Blackhawks).
