MLS Player Creates Bumpy Pitch Apparel Line

MLS Real Salt Lake D Brian Dunseth and publicist Ben Hooper have created the Bumpy Pitch clothing line, which includes “soccer-themed causal clothes,” according to Michael Lewis of the SALT LAKE TRIBUNE. Though the company currently only has “a handful of T-shirts and caps for men and women,” Dunseth plans “to introduce a new line of products for winter, as well as eventually branch out into sports jackets and dress shirts.” Dunseth has been working on “getting his products into local stores, as well as promoting them with his RSL teammates, members of the U.S. national team, and a group of soccer-loving celebrities.” Actors Michael Vartan, Wilmer Valderrama and Drew Carey all wear Bumpy Pitch apparel, and the company has “designed jerseys for ‘Hollywood United,’ a recreational team of entertainers” that includes singer Rod Stewart and actors Anthony LaPaglia and Vinnie Jones. Dunseth: “We wanted something that you could wear out to a bar or you could wear out to dinner, but at the same time, it’s something you could throw on as soon as the game was over. We just wanted to have something that players –- and not just players, but everyone –- could identify with that would be first and foremost a fashion line” (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 7/22).
