Jack Diller, Only President In Predators History, To Retire

Jack Of All Trades: Predators
President To Retire
Predators President JACK DILLER, the only president in the team’s eight-year history, will retire effective tomorrow, according to John Glennon of the Nashville TENNESSEAN. Diller will remain Predators Foundation Chair and “plans to maintain ties with Nashville charities and businesses on behalf of the organization.” Diller said, “This is a good time to step away. Everything we hear from the league’s standpoint would indicate the players and owners have reached editorial agreement.” Glennon notes Diller “had actually taken a step back from his responsibilities last spring, when he chose to” focus on the team’s business relationships. An office of the president was set up at that time, which consisted of Predators GM DAVID POILE, Exec VP/Finance & Administration ED LANG and Senior VP/Communications & Development GERRY HELPER. Diller said that the Predators have “reached an agreement with a ‘seasoned veteran and highly successful, hockey knowledgeable person’ to head up the organization’s sales and marketing department.” But Glennon writes it is “uncertain whether they -– or anyone else -– will actually carry the title of president” (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 6/29).
