U.S. Rep. JOE BACA (D-CA), for the third time in five years, has introduced legislation to honor TIGER WOODS by awarding him a gold medal “in recognition of his service to the nation in promoting excellence and good sportsmanship, and in breaking down barriers with grace and dignity by showing that golf is a sport for all people.” Baca has enlisted 13 House members as co-sponsors of the bill. All of the co-sponsors are also Democrats, “who may or may not have been aware Woods is assumed to be a Republican” (GOLFWORLD, 5/20 issue).
