LeBron Hits Up Boss For Pistons Playoff Tickets

Pistons presenting sponsor Rock Financial “has committed through the playoffs” to purchase the four seats directly behind the Pistons bench at The Palace of Auburn Hills, according to Angelique Chengelis of the DETROIT NEWS. Eight seats — four behind each bench — were added in mid-March and initially called “The Jack Nicholson Seats” before being renamed “Super-VIP seats.” The four seats behind the Pistons’ bench cost $1,500 each during the regular season and first round, $2,000 each for the second round, $2,500 each for the conference finals and $5,000 each for the NBA Finals. Two groups have purchased two seats each behind the visiting bench, but “did not want their identities made public.” Rock Financial’s seats are “predominately used as an employee perk,” but Cavaliers F LeBron James sat there during the first round. Quicken Loans and Rock Financial Founder & Chair Dan Gilbert owns the Cavaliers. Pistons Senior Dir of Corporate Sales John Kapral said that the team could add four additional seats “on both sides of the team benches, but that would impinge on the media section.” Kapral: “There are certain parameters the NBA has for media seating. We would have to shorten the press table, so that could be a problem” (DETROIT NEWS, 5/17).
