In DC, Eric Fisher reports the Orioles again this season will be seen on Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic (CSN), WNUV-WB and WJZ-CBS. CSN will show 87 games, while WNUV will show 38 and WJZ 25. The team’s broadcast crew of Jim Hunter, Fred Manfra, Jim Palmer and Buck Martinez also returns, with Palmer and Martinez “agreeing to new multiyear contracts.” The Orioles have no contract with a “Washington-based, over-the-air station to broadcast its games” (WASHINGTON TIMES, 3/24).
VIKINGS: In Minneapolis, Judd Zulgad reports KFAN-AM “completed a deal with the Vikings that will keep the team” on the station for another five years. Included in the deal is an eight-game package of Spanish broadcasts that will begin next season on KFXN-AM, which “like KFAN is owned by Clear Channel.” The previous four-year pact expired after last season (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 3/24).
HIGH RAPIDS: Denver-based Altitude will televise 13 MLS Rapids matches live, including eight road matches. KKFN-AM will broadcast 21 games live and KMXA-AM will air all 16 home games live in Spanish (DENVER POST, 3/24).
