MLB has vowed to fight some of the subpoenas issued to players and execs by the U.S. House Committee on Government Reform for a March 17 hearing on steroid use in baseball. Stanley Brand, an attorney representing both the league and union, is challenging the Committee’s jurisdiction on the matter, but Committee Chair Tom Davis (R-VA) and ranking minority member Henry Waxman (D-CA) say that they are acting within their oversight of the nation’s drug laws.
