Super Bowl Champs Announce Higher Ticket Prices
Published February 18, 2005
For the first time since ‘02, the Patriots will “raise ticket prices across the board” for the ‘05 season, according to Ron Borges of the BOSTON GLOBE. Tickets for the $99 sideline seats at Gillette Stadium will increase to $125, while 100 and 200 level corner/end zone seats will increase to $89, 300 level sideline seats will increase to $75, and the 300 level corner/end zone seats will rise to $59, up from $49. Club and suite prices will remain the same, as those prices “were fixed at the time the buyers signed 10-year contracts” (BOSTON GLOBE, 2/18). Also in Boston, Michael Felger notes the Patriots already had the highest average ticket price in the NFL. In ’04, the team’s average ticket price of $75.33, “put them well ahead of the team with the second-highest priced tickets,” the Redskins at $68.12, and the league average of $54.75 (BOSTON HERALD, 2/18).
