Heat To Offer Three-Year Season-Ticket Plan
Published January 19, 2005
The Heat are offering a new ticket initiative that allows fans “to renew season tickets on a three-year basis, locking in a set price during the entire span,” according to Ira Winderman of the Ft. Lauderdale SUN-SENTINEL. While Heat C Shaquille O’Neal has one year left on his contract and can opt out after this season, Heat President of Business Operations Eric Woolworth said that the team would not “be willing to refund or restructure three-year ticket commitments should O’Neal not remain.” Woolworth: “People are going to have to make their decision based on what they think we’re going to do.” Woolworth added that an increase in ticket prices next season and the three-year plan are “a product of bringing the Heat’s revenues in line with other playoff contenders.” Woolworth said the changes do not “really have anything to do with Shaq” (SUN-SENTINEL, 1/17).
