Making A Splash: D’Backs Unveil Plans For Renovated BOB Pool
Published January 19, 2005

The D’Backs unveiled plans for the $150,000 renovation of Bank One Ballpark’s right-center field pool, the cost of which Phoenix-based We Fix Ugly Pools will cover “in exchange for advertising with the team,” according to Craig Harris of the ARIZONA REPUBLIC. The pool will be demolished and rebuilt about four feet higher, “so fans who use it would have a better view of the game.” It also will have 48 water jets “that can be set off when a Diamondback player hits a home run.” The area will include a new private bar, plasma TVs and patio seating. The pool last season was rented “for more than 90[%] of the home games,” at a cost of $5,750 per game (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 1/19).
