Not Pretty In Pink: Bucs Upset That New Seats Are Not Ready

Bucs attorney Roxanne Kosarzycki said in a January 7 letter that the Tampa Sports Authority “dropped the ball” in making sure that Maine-based Hussey Seating would have new red seats installed in Raymond James Stadium in time for the ’05 season, according to Alan Snel of the TAMPA TRIBUNE. The existing seats are now pink, “a concern to the team whose colors are red and pewter.” In a settlement with the authority in December, Hussey “agreed to install new seats for” the ’05 season, but Kosarzycki’s letter indicated that the company “informed the authority that the seats won’t be ready until” ’06. Kosarzycki added that Hussey will not have the seats ready “because of a problem with its subcontractor.” Tampa Sports Authority Exec Dir Henry Saavedra said that the Bucs “should not be mad at the authority,” and added, “Hussey dropped the ball on us” (TAMPA TRIBUNE, 1/14).
