It’s Showtime: Cable Net To Develop Movie About Steroids
Published January 11, 2005
Showtime is working with writer/producer John Ridley “on a movie about the steroids scandal surrounding” MLB and Giants LF Barry Bonds, according to Denise Martin of DAILY VARIETY. Adam Fierro “is on board to pen the project, currently in early development.” Ridley and his International Famous Players Radio Picture will exec produce, while the company’s Head of Development Marit Weisenberg will serve as associate producer. The movie will focus on Bonds and his involvement in the steroids controversy. The film is based on “Gunning for the Big Guy,” a Playboy article by Jonathan Littman, who will co-produce and consult on the project (DAILY VARIETY, 1/11).
