Cablevision Threatens To Pull Networks From Time Warner

Cablevision said that it “will pull the plug on Knicks broadcasts” to Time Warner Cable’s (TWC) 2.3 million N.Y.-area subscribers next Wednesday “in a battle over cash,” according to Mushnick & Marchand of the N.Y. POST. In addition to MSG, Cablevision also will pull FSNY from TWC if no agreement is reached. The feud between TWC and Cablevision began this summer and “led to the blackout of some Mets games.” The sides have not come to an agreement on the monthly fee TWC pays Cablevision to carry the channels since their last deal expired July 31. Sources said that Cablevision, which recently set November 24 as the deadline for a deal, “now gets $2.90 per month per TWC subscriber.” Mushnick & Marchand report while “sticking points this time revolve mostly around money,” Cablevision is also “insisting TWC carry its Metro channels.” Viewers were told they would receive NBA TV and College Sports TV “as temporary replacements for MSG and FSNY.” TWC subscribers would receive a $2 a month refund if the channels are pulled (N.Y.
