NASCAR: Sunday's Nextel Cup Subway 500 on NBC drew a 10% increase against last year's 4.0/10 and was even with the same race in '02. Through the four Chase for the Cup races on NBC, the network is averaging a 4.7/10, up 4% from a 4.5/9 for the same four races in '03 (THE DAILY).
NFL: The first window of Fox' Week Seven regional NFL coverage Sunday was up 3% from the same week last year. The second window, which featured Cowboys-Packers to 89% of the U.S, was up 2% over last year's 13.3/28. The doubleheader earned a 1% increase against last year's 10.1/23. CBS' Week Seven regional coverage was up 4% (9.3/22) from the same week in '03. ABC’s MNF, featuring Broncos-Bengals, posted an 8% decrease against an 11.9/20 for Chiefs-Raiders last year (THE DAILY)....In Miami, Barry Jackson writes local Dolphins ratings have dropped from a 19.9/ (300,689 HHs) for eleven games last year to a 15.6/ (235,716 HHs) for four games this season (MIAMI HERALD, 10/29).... Because of Fox' coverage of Game Two of the World Series on Sunday, ESPN did not televise a Sunday Night Football game, which resulted in the network dropping to No. 11 among cable networks in primetime for the week (834,000 HHs), a decrease of 54.1% against the previous week (MEDIALIFE MAGAZINE, 10/27).
NOTES: ABC's coverage of the PGA Tour Funai Classic final round was off 37% from a 1.9/4 last year, which featured Vijay Singh as the champion and Tiger Woods finishing in second place Woods did not play in this year’s event....NBC's coverage of Boston College-Notre Dame posted a 13% decrease against Navy-Notre Dame (2.4/6) in '03.... Saturday's Alabama-Tennessee NCAA football game on CBS drew a 30% decline compared to Tennessee-Alabama (3.7/9) last year, which went to five overtimes (THE DAILY).
