NBC promoted VP/Sports Communications KEVIN SULLIVAN to NBC Universal Senior VP/Corporate Communications & Media Relations and NBC Olympics Dir of Communications & Marketing MIKE MCCARLEY to NBC Universal Sports & Olympics VP/Communications & Marketing (NBC).

MLB TEAMS: Pirates VP/Marketing & Sales MIKE BERRY has resigned after “slightly more than one year on the job.” Berry, who joined the team in ’01 as Dir of Corporate Sales, “did not give a reason for the resignation” (Pittsburgh TRIBUNE-REVIEW, 10/27)....The Expos named DEREK YOUNGER Dir of Ticket Operations, the “first step in establishing a system to sell tickets for the team’s first season in Washington.” Most recently, Younger was Box Office Manager at the Warner Theatre (WASHINGTON POST, 10/27).

EXECS: Columbia Sportswear Company named PAUL GILS as GM for Europe and promoted Sorel Division National Sales Manager MIKE PRENDERGAST to Sorel Division President. Gils spent ten years with Nike Europe, most recently as GM of Footwear for Germany (Columbia)....Russell Corp. named CFO ROBERT KONEY Senior VP and named Mothers Work President & Founder REBECCA MATTHIAS to the BOD (Russell)....TWI named former Carlton Content Commercial Dir MARTIN BAKER to a “similar role” with the company, effective next month. Baker will oversee TWI’s contractual relationships with broadcasters and co-production partners (INDIANTELEVISION.com, 10/18).
