Quote of the Day

Aqua Beatles.’”

United Fans If They Hope For Successful Ownership
Mindful of the power and influence that Manchester United fans wield and their negative opinions of him, Buccaneers Owner Malcolm Glazer is attempting to appease supporters as he prepares to bid for the club. The London TELEGRAPH reports that instead of trying to convince fans to accept Malcolm, his son Joel — who is not in favor of making any major changes to the team — will move to London to oversee the purchase. Additionally, the Glazers will reportedly offer ManU manager Sir Alex Ferguson a “beefed-up role,” as they have identified him as the only person “with the power to calm emotions” of the fervent fans. The offer to Ferguson is reportedly part of “a ‘new model’ of football club ownership” that could include “extended formal involvement for supporters” and means of “generating funds for further investment in the team.”
