| Will Rome Be The Next “Late Late Show” Host? |
ABC earned a 7.6/13 national Nielsen rating for the preseason Titans-Cowboys “MNF” game Monday, down 4% from the comparable 7.9/14 for Colts-Broncos last year (THE DAILY). USA TODAY’s Rudy Martzke writes new “MNF” sideline reporter Michele Tafoya, “through knowledgeable interviews and informative injury reports, ... continued to provide the first-rate sideline reporting on [“MNF”] that was missing last year with Lisa Guerrero” (USA TODAY, 9/1).
BURNING DOWN THE HOUSE: DAILY VARIETY’s Pamela McClintock reports ESPN’s Jim Rome is among four people “on the short list of potential guest hosts” for CBS’ “Late Late Show.” The order in which the guest hosts will appear and how long they will appear has not been determined. The guest hosts will begin on September 20 when the show returns from hiatus. Host Craig Kilborn last week departed the show after five years (DAILY VARIETY, 9/1).
AIR TIME: In L.A., Tim Haddock reports NASCAR drivers Jamie McMurray and Casey Mears will each film an episode of “MTV Cribs” this month, with the shows slated to air in November (L.A. DAILY NEWS, 9/1). Also in L.A., Nathan Brown reports Mears also has part in the movie “Kirby” that will be filmed at California Speedway (L.A. DAILY NEWS, 9/1)....FSN Arizona has hired former AFL Rattlers coach and former NFLer Danny White as an analyst for Arizona State Univ. football telecasts (FSN Arizona).
