Names & Faces: Brand Jordan Adds Four More NFL Players
Published September 1, 2004
Nike’s Brand Jordan announced the addition of Packers RB Ahman Green, Colts WR Marvin Harrison, Eagles WR Terrell Owens and Dolphins DE Jason Taylor to Team Jordan. The addition of the athletes, who were handpicked by Michael Jordan, provides the brand with a greater presence in the sport of football. Jordan’s other NFL endorsers are Raiders DT Warren Sapp, Cowboys RB Eddie George and Vikings WR Randy Moss (Jordan).
STILL THE TALK OF THE TOWN: WTA Tour player Lindsay Davenport, when asked about Serena Williams’ outfit worn Monday at the U.S. Open, said, “We had a funny conversation a few months ago when she signed with Nike. I said, ‘You’re going to love their clothes.’ She told me, ‘I just want to look good. I don’t care if it’s comfortable.’ I started laughing. I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, that’s so the opposite of me’” (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 9/1).
HARDEE APPETITE: Former MLBer Mark McGwire was in St. Louis yesterday to film a commercial for Hardee’s. The commercial is part of a joint promotion between Hardee’s and the Cardinals, which will be announced later this month (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 9/1). McGwire earlier this year appeared in a spot for the company promoting its Thickburger (THE DAILY).
