Internet movie/video game rental company GameZnFlix announced that it has reserved fourth-quarter ad space during Fox’ broadcast of Super Bowl XXXIX (GameZnFlix).
TAKE A PICTURE, IT LASTS LONGER: The N.Y. POST reports fans at the U.S. Open can have their picture taken holding a replica of the championship trophy in front of a center-court photo backdrop at a booth sponsored by Lincoln. At the American Express booth, fans can have their digital image placed in a shot with Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick or Venus Williams. The photographer said, “Agassi is the most popular choice by far” (N.Y. POST, 9/1).
SIGNING DAY: The Univ. of Michigan (UM) athletic department signed a three-year, $2.38M sponsorship deal with Standard Federal Bank, under which Standard Federal will receive advertising at Crisler Arena, Yost Ice Arena, Cliff Keen Arena and on radio broadcasts. UM AD Bill Martin “reiterated Monday that he has no plans to introduce advertising” at Michigan Stadium. Michigan’s top athletic sponsorship is Nike’s seven-year, $28M deal (ANN ARBOR NEWS, 8/31)....Memphis-based coffee supplier The Ugly Mug Coffee Co. has signed a multi-year deal with the Grizzlies to be the exclusive coffee supplier for the FedExForum and other Grizzlies-affiliated entities and offices (MEMPHIS BUSINESS JOURNAL, 8/27 issue).
