The Lakers are raising tickets prices for nearly all levels at Staples Center, according to the L.A. DAILY NEWS. While more than one-third of the arena’s 18,997 seats will sell for $35 or less, the “higher-priced seats will be most affected.” Courtside seats will increase $100 a game to $2,000. Other price increases include: $187.50 tickets now costing $200; $170 tickets to $180; $122.50 tickets to $130; $87.50 tickets to $95; $70 tickets to $75; $34 tickets to $35; and $24 tickets to $25. The Lakers will continue to sell at least 500 tickets per game at $10. Lakers Dir of PR John Black said of the increases, “Our high-priced tickets are reflective of what people are willing to pay, while still maintaining the lower-price tickets which make our games accessible for families and people of all economic levels” (L.A. DAILY NEWS, 7/23).
