Frampton Suing
Over Bikini

Peter Frampton is suing surfwear manufacturer Billabong for “selling a bikini that features [his] face on the rear and the phrase, ‘Baby, I love your waves.’” Frampton claims the phrase is “an obvious reference” to his ’75 song, “Baby, I Love Your Way” (HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, 7/22).

SWORD FISH: Long John Silver’s will sponsor Chance 2 Motorsports’ No. 8 NASCAR Busch Series Chevrolet driven by Martin Truex, Jr. in the Kroger 200 at Indianapolis Raceway Park on August 7 and at the Bashas’ Supermarkets 200 at Phoenix Int’l Raceway on November 6. Truex’ ride is owned by Dale Earnhardt Jr. (Long John Silver’s).

LADY & THE RAMP: TIME’s Lisa McLaughlin examines the trend of women participating in skateboarding, and reports Elements is releasing a new signature skateboard deck with ’04 Female Skateboarder of the Year Vanessa Torres. Also, DVS, Sole Technology and Vans “are ramping up their collections of women’s skate shoes and clothes, joining the already girl-centric Curly Grrlz and Rookie” (TIME, 7/26).
