Cassani Retains Vice Chair Title
In New Limited Role

OLYMPICS: In London, Andrew Pierce reported London 2012 Bid Committee Vice Chair BARBARA CASSANI "has relinquished her high-profile role." While Cassani will "continue working on `technical aspects' of the bid, she is no longer expected to play a significant role. She will not draw a salary but will retain" the Vice Chair title. Cassani's move "prompted the immediate resignation" of Project Manager JANE WILLACY (LONDON TIMES, 7/6). Pierce today reports Cassani's role "has been taken over by" Australian JIM SLOMAN, who is "credited with making a success of" the '00 Sydney Games. Cassani will work one day a week, down from three (LONDON TIMES, 7/7)....Athens Olympics Secretary General SPYROS CAPRALOS will now "oversee the day-to-day operations of the city of Athens during the Olympics." Capralos was "given the new powers by" Prime Minister COSTAS KARAMANLIS (AROUNDTHERINGS.com, 7/3).

COMCAST: Comcast Cable President STEVE BURKE has added the title of Comcast Corp. COO. Also, Comcast Cable named Exec VP/Marketing DAVE WATSON Exec VP/Operations, and MIKE TALLENT Exec VP/Finance & Administration, where he will oversee cable finance and accounting, administration, IT, programming administration, engineering operations, customer service and Comcast SportsNet (MULTICHANNELNEWS.com, 7/6). Burke will continue to head Comcast Cable as well as oversee Comcast's programming investments division and Comcast-owned nets. Those divisions had previously reported to CEO BRIAN ROBERTS (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 7/7).

EXECS: PGA Tour Senior VP & TPC Network COO PETE DAVISON announced his retirement, effective at the end of '04 (PGA Tour)....Trail Blazers Dir of Player Programs JEROME KERSEY has resigned to become a Bucks assistant coach (Trail Blazers)....The PBR announced seven-time PRCA champion TY MURRAY and two-time PBR world champion ADRIANO MORAES were unanimously elected to new positions on the PBR BOD. Murray will take over as PBR President (PBR).
