IMG Will Find Sports Clients For Fleischer’s Firm

Former White House press secretary ARI FLEISCHER has hired IMG to "help him secure [PR] consulting deals with professional athletes, coaches, leagues and teams," according to SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's Liz Mullen, who notes Fleischer founded DC-based Ari Fleischer Communications after leaving the White House last year. Fleischer said, "What I am offering is internal advice and counsel so that the teams and media directors for the teams and the athletes themselves have an internal partner to help them strategize and think through their various controversies and issues." IMG Senior VP/Broadcast Division SANDY MONTAG will be Fleischer's primary agent. Montag: "He is a new type of client because we have never before signed a public relations/crisis management person." Neither side would reveal financial terms, but Montag indicated IMG would get a percentage of the business it generated for Fleischer and his firm" (SBJ, 3/15 issue).
